Windermere Elementary School is located in Windermere, Florida to the west of Lake Down and North of Wauseon Bay. Windermere is a wonderful city with many beautiful bodies of water and natural landscapes. The school was originally among the lakes and citrus groves of West Orange County in 1889. In 1910, the school was relocated to Main Street in a building that is now home to a police station and small businesses. The school's current two-story structure was built in 1967 on 15 acres of land. The school also underwent renovations in 2005 that included upgrades and an expansion of the cafeteria. In 2017, the school celebrated it's 50th anniversary in its current location.
