Town Of Windermere "gem" With 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms And An Open Floorplan. If You Have Been Looking For A Wonderful Starter Home, Retirement Home Or That Perfect Windermere Lot To Build Your Own Dream House This Could Be It! This Charming Brick ...

About Windermere:

Before Windermere became Windermere, the Timucua Indians lived in the town that would one day become the residence to a diverse group of individuals from across the world that we know today. Windermere was established as a residential development in 1889 and chartered in 1925.

It’s believed that Windermere got its name from Dr. Stanley Scott, whose father bought land on the shores of Lake Butler. Dr. Stanley Scott's father named the town Windermere after Lake Windermere in England. Windermere's logo was also inspired by the Town of Windermere, England. The logo is made up of four quarters. The top left quarter shows three Windermere class yachts, which were quite famous at one time. The top right quarter is symbolic of an ancient gate denoting Windermere as the gateway to the Lake District. The bottom left quarter represents the flag of Saint George, the Patron Saint of England. The bottom right quarter represents three char, a rare and delicious species of trout, which are caught in Lake Windermere at a depth of at least 90 feet using gold or gold-plated lures.

The Town of Windmere’s focus is on nature and preserving the land's natural history and beauty. This preservation can be seen in the unpaved roads of downtown, The Butler Chain of Lakes, the 1887 Windermere Schoolhouse and the towns title of “Tree City USA”. Tibet-Butler Nature Preserve is home to the Vera Carter Environmental Center which provides a variety of exhibits and displays. Here you can take hikes and participate in their many environmental programs.

But don’t be fooled by downtown Windermere’s small town community feel, as there are plenty of things to do in Windermere. Every Friday from 9am to 2pm, stop by the Windermere Farmers Market for fresh produce, homemade food and hand crafted items. Take a tour or go fishing on the Butler Chain of Lakes, 13 spring fed lakes that are interconnected by canals and are passable by boat. Windermere also has a couple of great golf courses. One is Isleworth Country Club in the Isleworth neighborhood that’s famous for housing celebrities such as NBA star Shaquille O’Neal and actor Wesley Snipes. The other is The Golden Bear Club at Keene's Point located in the neighborhood of Keene’s Point.

Being right outside of Orlando, one of the biggest tourist cities in the country, Windermere is a hub for real estate. With a close proximity to Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World, making the move to Windermere promises you with a quiet life to build a family, as well as a short commute to whatever entertainment you could possibly imagine. Homes for sale in Windermere are plentiful and offer anything you could possibly ask for. Whether you like a discreet life by the lake or fast-moving city life, you can have it all!

Windermere was rated as the "Number One Top Choice Towns for Families with Children in the Sunshine State" by Neighborhood Scout, which combines data from the National Center for Education Statistics, the U.S. Bureau of Census, The FBI, the U.S. Justice Department, and the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight. That makes Windermere a safe environment for you to raise your family in, and guarantees you with wonderful schools for your children.

Real Estate in Windermere is expected to boom in the next year so buying a home here now will guarantee you a property with good net return in the future. Not only will you get a great place to call home, but you will also have a guaranteed investment for the future.

Windermere is a town of upscale living with luxury homes to choose from with ranging prices to match your annual income, as well as a wide range of architectural styles to match your personal taste. Many neighborhoods back up to lakes – and some homes are even equipped with a boat ramp so you can have a good time drifting with your family across the beautiful blue water. Amenities for the active range everywhere from neighborhood and private tennis courts, membership gyms with only the best personal trainers, walking trails through nature preserves, and parks and recreation.

Windermere Neighborhoods:

As far as education goes, Windermere has some of the best schools in the Orlando area. The community is within Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), which include Windermere Elementary School, Gotha Middle School, Olympia High School, and Windermere High School. Windermere Preparatory School, a private, coeducational PK-12 college preparatory school, is in nearby Lake Butler.

Windermere Schools:

In good old Florida fashion, Windermere isn’t just a location for the young and restless with a taste for an active lifestyle, it’s also a wonderful place to retire. With a rich history and a wonderfully developed surrounding, it’s easy to get from point A to point B if you need to go to the grocery store or buy a new outfit. There are loads of retirement communities no matter what your preference is. If you want a quiet lifestyle, like to do physical activities such as play golf and interact with fellow people your age, or crave something a bit more adventurous and exciting, there is definitely a community for you!

Cost of living in this prestigious town is 44% higher than the Florida average, making it an expensive place to live, but rewarding considering the amenities, a crime rate 58% lower than the Florida average, a High School graduation rate 20% higher than the Florida average, and much higher house incomes than the Florida average due to the amount of available job opportunities. The value of homes is remarkably high compared to most cities in the Florida State. This makes purchasing a home now before prices skyrocket even more important for those that want an investment that will turn around for the better in the future.

Windermere is a flat area with a mix of open land and woods surrounded by lakes. The fertile terrain is suitable for orchards and citrus crops. The climate is subtropical with inland and marine influences. Summers are warm and humid but temperatures over 95 are rare and breezes provide comfort. The rainy season extends from June through September, with scattered showers and thunderstorms almost daily. Winters are mild with light rainfall. Hurricanes aren’t a threat due to Windermere being inland, but during hurricane season, expect heavy rains.

As far as social activities go, Windermere is a hot spot for socialites. With country clubs and community events, Windermere is a great place for the active and social. Restaurants range from unique eateries you can’t find anywhere else to chain restaurants that your taste buds are familiar with. Not to mention Restaurant Row in Dr. Phillips, a neighboring community.

You can stop by local Dixie Cream Café to start your day with tasty pancakes or to satisfy your sweet tooth with their many cakes or if that doesn’t do the trick, go to Jeremiah’s Italian Ice to get yourself soft serve ice cream, shaved ice, or gelato. If you can’t function until you’ve had a nice cup of joe, stop by Allen’s Creamery & Coffee House.  For the smoothie fan, there is Planet Smoothie and Smoothie King. Restaurants include Dexter’s, a New American restaurant known for their cocktails and popular brunch menu. For eco-minded individuals, BurgerFi is for you! This local joint serves grass-fed beef burgers, hot dogs, craft beer, and wine. Other restaurants include but aren’t limited to SpoletoBlack Rock Bar & Grill, and My French Café.

Just like its food scene, Windermere has unique retail shops and markets in its downtown area and several plazas in its surrounding areas with all the shopping basics you need.  Just outside the community you will find the upscale Mall of Millenia with national and international known retailers. The Grove is a shopping center known for boutiques and health and beauty shops, but for malls with popular shops, you’ll have to drive over to neighboring Dr. Phillips.
